Scandinavian Business Seating has started a large logistics projects that will run during 2012 and our challenge is to identify the organization, transport flows and warehouse operations in an efficient and quality manner, says David Christoffersen, head of indirect purchasing and transportation for the group.
The next step is to proceed with the analysis and optimizations based on the the findings in the first step.
In late 2011 we made a tender to find an external logistic provider partner to work with and ended up using Proxio. One of the reasons was that their tools, which are included in the project, saves us both time and money, continues David.
Being able to carry out a logistic mapping with minimal external resources while using a visualisation tool is a smart way to work, says project manager Pierre Engdahl from Scandinavian Business Seating. In this way, we can also decide how much we want to use Proxio in the process of washing data, initial transport arrangements, etc. The fact that we save our data in an orderly manner and quality does not make it worse, continues Pierre.
